This esteemed function was held to honor the new board of prefects in SLISJ. To recap on the events that occurred, the evening commenced with a few verse from the Quran. The school anthem was then sung by the school choir. Principal Mr.Basheer Risvee welcomed the guests and the chairman to the Board of Directors, Mr. Nasir Ahmed addressed the gathering.
Followed soon after was the conferring of badges to the beaming prefects by the principal and the Directors of the Board of Management while their parents stood beside them to witness the unforgettable moment. As expected, the majority of prefects were from Grade 10. However, a few Grade 11’s were appointed as well as according to the standard criteria.
The chosen leaders for tomorrow were designated leaders in the form of a Head Prefect from Grade 12 commerce stream, Adhil Ajmal and the two Deputy Head Prefects from AS Science stream, Akkas Ahmed and Rana Riyal.
The Head Boy administered the oath and then the Head of Department for the upper class, Mr.Harsha Walpita read the criteria for the selection of prefects in order to enlighten the parents regarding same. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Head Prefect and finally the function was wrapped up with the national anthem sung by the school choir.
