Sri Lankan International School Jeddah

Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Riyadh

As the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it is my pleasure to witness the unveiling of this dedicated website for the Sri Lankan International School in Jeddah.

This is a fruition of a project which was an effort to connect all the stakeholders and to provide necessary services and information online, which is a timely initiative, in keeping abreast with the modern technology.

Establishing Sri Lankan International School in Jeddah was an achievement made by the Sri Lankan community in western region of KSA. After two decades of its inception, we are reaching today yet another milestone in schools’ history, by entering into the internet age. This school has been a symbol of unity of different religious & ethnic groups who came together to provide quality education for the Sri Lankan students and today we once again underline this great noble aim of the founders of this School.

The Government of Sri Lanka, Embassy and the Consul General office in Jeddah has gone to great lengths in supporting the Sri Lankan expatriate community. Establishment of Sri Lanka schools in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam are among some of the forward looking initiatives taken to meet the long term societal needs of the Sri Lankan expatriates working and living in the Kingdom.

The Sri Lankan International School in Jeddah as evolved through the time to be one of the key educational institutes and at this point I also wish to acknowledge the founders of this school, Chairman’s & BOD members, Principals, teachers, volunteers and the donors who contributed to the establishment and development of this school. We are also very grateful to the Saudi government and its Education authorities for their involvement and cooperation with regard to our Sri Lankan International Schools in the Kingdom.

The past and the present Board of Management, the parents Embassy and the Consul General office in Jeddah has taken up the mammoth task of bringing much-needed change and reform to the following aspects – the move to a purpose-built premises, the school curriculum, design of a career guidance and extra-curricular activities and further strengthen linking the school to the Sri Lankan Education system.

I wish the current Board of Directors, the Principal and staff members, students and parents of the Sri Lanka International School in Jeddah, my sincere commendation, for this important achievement.
